Raw ADX > 20 lies to you three ways
Every mechanical system needs a momentum filter. Most traders use the classic rule: take the trade if ADX is above 20. The rule is right in spirit and sloppy in execution. CAVI keeps the spirit and fixes the execution.
Threshold flicker
ADX hovers at 19.8, ticks to 20.2, drops back. Raw ADX flips your filter on and off bar by bar exactly where the decision matters most. CAVI requires the slope to be rising, so a borderline cross without follow-through never ignites.
One-bar whipsaws
A single volatile candle can spike ADX through the threshold and drag it straight back. CAVI's N-bar confirmation hold demands the condition survive before the line ignites. One bar of noise is not momentum.
Strength without direction
ADX measures trend strength, not trend direction. It reads 30 in a strong move against you. CAVI's optional DI alignment gate requires the directional indices to agree before momentum counts as confluence.
Four gates. All must agree.
CAVI is pure if-this-then-that. If all active gates pass, the line ignites. If any gate fails, it stays plain. The glow then scales with how far ADX runs past the threshold, so a young trend glows softly and a powerful one burns.

Each theme carries a white-hot core, a full-saturation brand halo, and a deep outer glow with exponential falloff: real bloom, not a colored line. Solana goes one further, shifting purple to cyan to green as momentum strengthens.
