The Chart Whisperer is a trading education business operated by Charles V., a sole proprietor registered in Canada. We provide digital trading education products, private coaching services, and free educational content through our website at chartwhisperer.ca.
For the purposes of applicable privacy law, Charles V. operating as The Chart Whisperer is the data controller responsible for personal information collected through this website.

02. Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you:
- Purchase a Product — name, email address, billing address. Payment card details are submitted directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us.
- Book a Coaching Session — name and email address provided via our Calendly booking page.
- Contact Us — name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Subscribe to updates — email address, where applicable.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit chartwhisperer.ca, our analytics service (Google Analytics 4) automatically collects certain technical and behavioural data, including:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Referring website or search query that brought you to the site
- Browser type, operating system, and device category
- General geographic location at country and city level (not precise GPS location)
- Session and engagement metrics (bounce rate, scroll depth, click events)
This data is collected in aggregate and anonymised form. Your precise IP address is anonymised before storage. See Section 05 for full details and opt-out options.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect government ID numbers, passport details, or tax identification numbers.
- We do not collect full credit or debit card numbers — all payment data flows through Stripe.
- We do not use session recording, heatmapping, or keystroke logging tools.
- We do not purchase third-party data or enrich customer profiles with external sources.
03. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information we collect for the following purposes only:
- Order fulfilment — delivering purchased Products to your email and managing your access.
- Coaching coordination — scheduling, confirming, and conducting coaching sessions.
- Customer support — responding to questions, requests, or complaints.
- Product updates — notifying you of improvements to Products you have purchased.
- Analytics and site improvement — understanding how visitors use the Site to improve content and user experience.
- Legal compliance — meeting our obligations under Canadian tax and financial record-keeping law.
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or significant effects on you.
We do not send unsolicited commercial email. Any transactional emails you receive from us are directly related to a purchase or enquiry you made.
04. Third-Party Service Providers
We work with a small number of third-party service providers. Each has access only to the data necessary for their specific function and is contractually obligated to use it only for that purpose.
We do not share your personal information with any other third parties, except as required by applicable law or court order.

What Cookies We Use
chartwhisperer.ca uses a minimal set of cookies — analytics cookies only. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social media tracking cookies, or any third-party marketing technology.
Google Analytics 4 Cookies
GA4 sets the following first-party cookies on chartwhisperer.ca:
- _ga — distinguishes unique users. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_RC7VHMMWC3 — maintains session state for our specific GA4 property. Expires after 2 years.
These cookies collect anonymised, aggregated data about how visitors use the Site. They do not track you across other websites and do not identify you personally.
How to Opt Out
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.
- Enable "Do Not Track" in your browser settings — we honour this signal where technically feasible.
- Use a privacy-focused browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts.
- Clear your browser cookies to reset your analytics identifier.
Opting out of analytics does not affect your ability to access any part of chartwhisperer.ca or any Products you have purchased.
No Advertising Technology
We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads remarketing, Twitter/X Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any other advertising or retargeting technology on chartwhisperer.ca. We do not serve advertisements on this Site.
06. Data Retention
We retain personal information for the following periods:
- Purchase records (name, email, transaction records) — 7 years, to comply with Canadian tax and financial record-keeping requirements under the Income Tax Act (Canada).
- Coaching session records — 3 years from the date of the last session.
- Customer support correspondence — 2 years from the most recent communication.
- Analytics data — 14 months in GA4, then automatically deleted per our GA4 data retention settings.
- Calendly booking data — governed by Calendly's retention policies; we retain related email correspondence for 2 years.
When personal information is no longer required and applicable retention periods have expired, we securely delete or anonymise it.
07. Your Rights
To exercise any of the following rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days of receiving a verified request.
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — request that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected.
- Deletion — request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Portability — request a copy of your data in a common machine-readable format where technically feasible.
- Objection — object to specific processing activities where our legal basis is legitimate interest.
- Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
08. GDPR — European Economic Area & United Kingdom
If you are in the EEA or UK, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR applies. This Section supplements the rest of this Policy.
Legal Bases for Processing
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) — processing your purchase, delivering Products, managing coaching sessions.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — retaining financial records as required by Canadian tax law.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — anonymised analytics to improve our Site, where not overridden by your rights. You may object — see Section 07.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — where relied upon (e.g. optional marketing), you may withdraw at any time.
International Data Transfers
Our service providers (Stripe, Google, Calendly, Netlify) are based in the United States. Transfers are conducted under appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission and, for UK transfers, the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA).
Right to Complain
EEA residents may lodge a complaint with their national data protection authority. A list is available at edpb.europa.eu. UK residents may contact the ICO at ico.org.uk.
09. PIPEDA — Canadian Privacy Law
The Chart Whisperer is subject to Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the provincial Personal Information Protection Act (BC PIPA) of British Columbia.
Under these laws you have the right to know what we collect, access your information, request corrections, withdraw consent (subject to legal constraints), and lodge a complaint with:

10. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your personal information, including:
- All pages on chartwhisperer.ca are served exclusively over HTTPS with TLS encryption.
- Payment data is processed and stored by Stripe using PCI DSS Level 1 certified infrastructure. We never handle raw card data.
- Access to customer records is restricted to authorised personnel only.
- Third-party providers are assessed for security practices prior to engagement.
No electronic storage or internet transmission is entirely secure. While we take all reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a breach that poses a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant supervisory authority as required by law.
11. No Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party for commercial or marketing purposes. Your data is used solely to provide the services you have requested.
We do not participate in data broker markets, lead generation programmes, or any scheme that monetises customer data.
12. Children's Privacy
chartwhisperer.ca and all Products are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. 13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at chartwhisperer.ca/privacy. The "Last Updated" date reflects the most recent revision.
