Spring, test, entry. Read out loud.

Most people learn to read a chart on their own, where being wrong costs nothing and teaches about as much. This class reads it out loud, in front of the room. Charles walks one accumulation down from the weekly to the four hour first, narrating every line as he draws it. Then Drew deletes every drawing on a section he had already worked, reads it again from scratch, freezes, and gets sent back to his checklist until the first safe entry is on the chart. The last quarter of the hour is questions from the room.

What the class covers

  • 01

    One accumulation, top-down

The weekly down to the four hour on a single section of tape. Bottom-heavy wicks on low volume, the corrective ABC, a range breached and immediately taken back, the creek, and the control bar that closes back above it. Support is treated as an area rather than a line, and the pullback is not required to reach the OTE. The Wyckoff schematics, written out.

  • 02

    The student’s read, corrected live

Drew reads the low of a wave two with every drawing deleted. Measure A against C, find the five waves inside B to C, keep a line at the prior swing, then read the spring and the test. The first safe entry is the bar that closes above the range, above the creek and out of the test in the same move. The moment he freezes is left in, because Charles’s point there is that the same freeze happens in real time with money on, and the checklist is what gets you through it.

  • 03

    Questions from the room

Why two timeframes seem to contradict each other and why they always will, why a volume profile fixed to a range beats one that moves with the screen for anyone in their first year, reading direction from the monthly down through impulsive and corrective legs, and why the whole process comes down to if this, then that. The written tape-reading guide.

0:00 · Charles V.That’s perfect. So so what I want to do because it’s uh we’re lucky actually that there’s only a couple of us here, we can actually go through individually if you guys are up to it, going through you guys reading a specific section of tape. There’s no errors like you you can do everything as as wrong as you know a thousand times over, it doesn’t matter. But this is how we correct at real time. And the coolest part about this uh when I when I used to do group classes before is uh a lot of the the time in the moment it’s very uh uncomfortable because you’re you know in front of a a person or other people who can critique you and and whatever. But what it does is it actually forces you it’s it’s actually the same muscle as real-time execution in charts which it doesn’t really register until you start dealing with weight, but the point is is that that forcing the uncomfortable process through being uncomfortable actually builds that muscle without you actually carrying weight. So it’s it’s this really cool um feels uncomfortable at first, but if you can just get through it real time you’ll get much stronger much faster versus just like practicing on your own in in private, it’s a very different thing. Um so if you guys are up to that we’ll just choose a little section first and then read the tape. Like I’ll give you an example and then I want you guys to kind of it what it is is a um as you guys are all aware there’s Wyckoff schematics, we’re going to focus just strictly on accumulation even though distribution is the same but flipped. And so just so that there’s an easier understanding visually of what we’re going through, we’ll do all accumulation schematics, all which are selling climax, spring, test, and then reclaim, whatever it is, but just on different sections of tape. They will they will it’s really cool because when you zoom in you’ll see how actually similar they are. But that way that you guys can actually step by step see from how how it’s actually done and then try to emulate it as best you can and then we’ll just tweak things as needed and then as we’re going through, uh if there’s a a thing that is uh can be done better we’ll just pause and I’ll ask you guys the the other new people what would you do in this instance. If there’s a a tweak that can be done what would it be. And that way it’s it forces real time. There’s no shame, there’s not a like everybody will fuck up thousands and thousands of times. It’s this is part of the process. But if we grow as a as a group it actually forces you to do this better on your own time. Um so if that sounds good to everyone, that’s what I’d like to do. And then we could go to the questions after.

2:31 · StudentYeah, that’s great, that’s great.

2:33 · Charles V.Okay cool. Drew?

2:35 · DrewYeah, that sounds great.

2:37 · Charles V.Okay. And Iren? Just type something if your audio is not on.

2:53 · StudentYes, it is.

2:55 · Charles V.Okay. Got it. All right. So you guys can see my chart?

2:59 · DrewYep.

3:03 · Charles V.Okay. So um we’re going to uh Drew has been doing this specific section in what is a leading diagonal and then the follow through of the two and then how to catch it from the lows. Um so uh I’m going to leave this part for him just because it’s um he kind of has a little bit of a jump start but he’ll go second. So that way you can kind of guide through I’m gonna just chick choose a random sample just uh it doesn’t matter when. Um but then you can Drew right now what I want you to do is delete your drawings on that specific part and then once deleted we’re going to go back there. Don’t don’t um the replay leave that exactly where it was but what I want you to do is we’re going to do this in real time. Like you’re going to watch me do it on a separate section and then I want you to go back to yours and then we’ll look at yours and and we’ll walk through the the same process. Does that sound good? Can you hear me?

3:36 · DrewYep.

4:08 · Charles V.Did you uh Drew did you hear that?

4:14 · DrewSorry, I’m here. I did hear all that. Sorry about that. Uh you want me to delete my I’ll delete my drawings on my chart.

4:27 · Charles V.Um just so there’s no cheating. Like I I don’t want you to have a a visual head start because you’re uh if you if you delete all your drawings and you forget everything then that’s a good enough um equal playing field for the most part.

4:38 · DrewYeah for sure. Okay.

4:39 · Charles V.Um so uh I don’t want to like uh just just so you guys know, to look at any chart upside down and right side up makes no difference. Uh it won’t to you in time also. But so uh I don’t want to cherry pick a point because it doesn’t matter to me but um as they’re all the same. Um what I want you guys to do is just uh if you were to choose any date on the chart it would be the same to me. It doesn’t doesn’t matter. So I’ll I’ll just choose this one if that’s uh fine again I don’t know what it is. But let’s look. So what we’re going to do first is we’re going to start and and we’re just going to in each instance if you guys have the replay button, we’re going to slap the bar past the break. So right past the change of character to break to the thing. That way, we can roll through all the time frames to as quickly as possible as um uh as much signal as possible. So first, we’re going to assume in all of these instances just for lack of um uh amount of time, that the trend is up. So I’m going to choose specific accumulation patterns where we’re in a bullish momentum move. Just for ease of of all things. Um so in this instance, starting at the weekly, I don’t think does you guys much good. There is a whole bunch of information super relevant support bounces all all the proceeding stuff but we’re just going to focus right in on the the actual meat of the tape so you don’t have to skew too much and then you’ll you’ll realize you can roll it all together later. So notice as I started at the weekly, there is a whole bunch of signal on all these time frames. Whether or not you guys can grasp them is completely separate and it’s not a gotcha it’s just a you will in time. And so as I’m going through them I’m just going to actually uh verbalize what what what I’m looking at and so you can understand. So in this instance, from previous and we’re we’re going to try to put as little mind as possible to what happened before, but also recognizing there are important points here if it’s on the same screen and we’re on a higher time frame we’re not going to go too far back. But we’re just going to outline what is relevant. And so in these instances, we have clear areas that are important. And again precision is is not that important in this instance we’re just trying to outline what the interactions are and whether or not the strength is increasing or decreasing. So simply, move up, these two bars together are one change of character and everything else is bottom heavy wicks. Which means that there is a lack of follow through to go down on top of low volume. And so whether or not this one pushes past and goes back into zone, that’s one thing. It’s what is the follow through immediately after is bullishly engulfed and then multiple attempts to go down with failing ability in each instance. So that’s again uh a good thing. This again real time is a little bit different but the point is as we’re rolling through in each instance, it’s the same comparative narrative. So this move up, that amount of volume. That attempt down with this amount of volume in a close. That is not a strong retracement. That is a bullish, very bullish move and again the follow through. uh one thing that I helped um that helped me visualize what this actually is, if you picture a rocket ship and the wicks, the longer wicks, like there’s each of them matter, but the longer side as um afterburners. So what’s happening is when we have these attempts to go down it’s just pushing it and saying nope, nope, nope, nope. And the the the harder the attempt down again over time this thing just it doesn’t have the ability to push down anymore and we start getting closes. It’s um again doesn’t probably make much sense but when you roll together on higher time frames and you can see that multiple wicks on this side that’s a really hard attempt but not making progress. And so uh again I don’t want to go too far in the weeds. But from this one what we can see is a clear corrective structure which is an A B C. And then a range that is breached, immediately retraced, attempted, failed and then control barred up. We are still not clear of the top line but it doesn’t matter at this point because when I zoom in I’ll show you that there is an actual uh creek that has already been jumped. And so in this instance same thing. We’re just reading the tape. This is weakening strength up. I’m not going to go bar by bar unless it’s needed, but then range breaker. So this is the range, breaker. First sign of supply. And then the follow through is not strong. There is a creek that this is actually an A B C with a creek that the control bar is up. This is a complex corrective. So A B C within a larger um corrective, but the point is after it pushes up, we immediately see a swing failure which retraces 50% of the move with high supply. What that means is that’s not a strong move. That if you roll these two together, this is the body and this entirety is the wick. So noting those two things we then gauge the downtrend. Is the ability so the result increasing or is it decreasing? Are we having more sellers step in or less sellers? And so that thing cleared obviously by the wick, once we have these lines identified we can assess did that just sweep liquidity and then was a unable to go any further? Clearly yes, and then remember in this instance there’s we’re still on a two-day this is way the fuck zoomed out compared to what you guys um should be actually playing on, but once we’re identifying these areas of interest it’s critical to assess that within this structure and this is where it gets really cool because you can actually um you can go through and identify what are the creeks to identify. And how does the actual microstructure align with what we’re looking at. It’s visible on a higher but much more granularly obvious on a on a smaller. And so the point is these things there there is also a a subtle understanding. We talked about the 70% rule and the the black spacing between candles to space out the amount of candles per chart which also guides your steepness allowed by a line. You can draw this line and that’s great it is a creek. However, it’s too steep to be highly usable in this instance because there’s a specific and I’ve it’s different per chart per time frame, but it’s around 30%. If the line if the degree of the angle is greater than 30% that’s too steep and I wouldn’t gauge that as an actual trend line worth using. However, when we have them printed less steep, again whether this is a best fit or or not whether or not you guys can see this, there is another trend line occurring here. And so I’m not going to do it on this time frame because you can’t see it. But the point is is that sweep down, same as this one was a 50% retrace, this is also a 50% retrace. And then again we’ll go more granularly but the point is um this is just what was a spring and a test. And so how do we identify this this thing? Again multiple layers uh I don’t want to cloud what um the amount of shit going on that you guys can digest right now, but order block is very important when it lines up with other things. We can then see a clear level of respect tied with a layer of confluence of not just the creek, the corrective nature of the ABC, but also the range highs. Is it leaving or entering with strengths. And so again, we’re still on a daily this is way way zoomed out. But the point is going all the way down in each instance we can see highly corrective. This is a and again you can’t see it yet but an ABC and this move up, this is an ABC. There are remember in each instance when we’re gauging these things, this move up, is it immediately greater than 50% retraced or not. That applies in both directions and all the time. And so whether or not you guys can see this as being usable yet, again still just on a 12 hour. This thing should be zoomed on a larger time frame so you can assess the actual closes to a higher degree visually the a better better understanding. Like the actual the the signal um was something like this optimally. Just just for closes and wicks. Whether or not you guys have the patience to sit through this this this is completely separate. Um so the point is just understanding that this rounded bottom after a spring and a test with a control bar up, that, that one two three four five, that is the break of structure what was the creek again I’ll I’ll draw it on a smaller time frame. But then the clear ABC correction and we can gauge this again this this might be too deep for you guys to to gauge right now, but the failure should occur here. And then the support from this which is the distance of A equals C, that thing, this now, that is our final again I’ll just because it’s a smaller class right now I’ll show you, this thing does not have to go down to the OT. It it’s not required. So we have to gauge is there an area that is strong enough to warrant all of this and if we just take this thing all the way back and recognize there is an area that is absolutely valid in this. It doesn’t remember, support is not a line. I can draw it with a line but whether or not you guys understand it doesn’t have to be precision. We just take the uh I’m not going to draw it here but this top close to here forward just like this order block and that’s the area that it had an inability to close past. So just leaving that thing on there just for this interaction sake, going now down to the four hour to see this is a much more clear creek. That thing after ABCs down to that distance, we want this thing, this line to be interacted with and to show us what’s actually taking place. Is there a strength of follow through, is it going past the C and not caring, what’s occurring and there is an inability to close with a clear very corrective, so liquidity sweep, ABC within here on a smaller time frame but, change of character above the rounded top range high and the creek. And the rest unfolds pretty straightforward with each being an ABC, ABC, impulsive, impulsive, they’re like this is um it’s just textbook. And then once we understand that in this instance this whole again this may be too much, but we have the ability to also take the volume tool and slap it from reasonable range to what is the entry and then gauge this point, this this thing that it’s showing you value area high and value area low, they also line up with all the other things of importance. But this is a lot of shit on the chart. So I again we go through these one by one so it’s not overwhelming, so I’ll delete all this shit for now, but I just want you to understand in all these instances, from from this move, whatever whatever you guys gauge this as, there is a clear as day way to catch this move up to the corrective nature down to what is the most important areas and then again whether or not we enter on this change of character out or this change of character out, or the retest or fill in the blank with all the different options, there are many. And all I need you guys to do is pick up how to do one or two of them over time. Just repeat it. The targets will come later, but um in that section, did that make sense? And if uh anything didn’t please say so before we move.

17:20 · DrewYeah I think so.

17:21 · Charles V.Did you have any questions? Sound very shaky.

17:26 · DrewNo, a loaded question. No, I’m uh nope. I’m good.

17:33 · Charles V.Okay. Emaad you?

17:38 · StudentYeah makes sense for me too.

17:44 · Charles V.Okay. So uh Ren’s away from the computer right now. So um what I want to do now is just flip to a a zone again very similar in the structure and uh I don’t know if you guys uh know it well enough yet but the the that schematic, we could have actually gauged in a phase A to E in a Wyckoff accumulation. They’re all the same. Um so I’m just going to pick a random spot and actually we’ll go to Drew’s uh what he was just working on just because it’s um a little bit more straightforward um there’s a lot of complexities of what um he’s actually specifically doing in this region with a leading diagonal and complex corrective ABCs and ending diagonals and shit. Um so just for simplicity Drew I want you to remember we’ve erased everything and all I want you to do I want you to focus on just this part here. So open your chart and show us from as high as you need to go to as granular as you need to catch it, how to catch it.

18:52 · DrewOkay. Okay. So you are uh over that date there October.

18:59 · Charles V.It’s the bottom of your two. That range, that slow rounded bottom at the bottom of what was the two, on the thing we were just looking at, that.

19:15 · DrewOkay. Um. Do you see can you see my screen?

19:19 · Charles V.Oh no, not yet. Yep.

19:22 · DrewOkay. This area?

19:26 · Charles V.Yeah, I want you to identify remember what we just looked at, that the bottom of the two.

19:32 · DrewRight. The bottom of the two.

19:37 · Charles V.Do you remember?

19:38 · DrewYeah. Right there.

19:40 · Charles V.No. No. It’s right on the the seventh, that that wick low the the doji, right there. That’s the bottom of the two. Yeah so remember I want you to just for simplicity’s sake cause it’s um sometimes confusing, just take a circle circle tool and slap it on the bottom of that wick and extend it out to the entire range uh that you’re only looking at just so you don’t get um distracted.

20:10 · DrewYeah. Okay.

20:12 · Charles V.Like like hold on just just wait. No no lines. Take that circle and make it 10 times as big. 10 candles long. That’s it. So it’s not interfering with your shit, delete that line.

20:26 · DrewNo. No, I know. And I’ll delete the line.

20:30 · Charles V.Okay. So now, your job, just like I narrated everything while drawing, so we’re on the same page of what’s happening and why, I want you to pretend we’re not here and take that replay line and put it on something like the uh see the change of character that breaches the the range high like the the ninth or something?

20:59 · DrewUh the change of character that breaches on the right there, stop.

21:06 · Charles V.That. And now I want you to pretend that remember this is you just drew a leading diagonal on that section. Whether or not you’re aware that there is a very clear correction with a important uh whole bunch of things lining up, that is what I need you to for us, just pretend none of us are here, you are zoomed out as far as you want, and to draw all the relevant shit without cluster fucking it so you can actually understand what’s happening and then narrate to us what you’re doing and how to catch it. Just like I did there.

21:46 · DrewOh man, okay. Uh okay. So, and not to not to draw out with Elliott’s wave and that kind of stuff, right?

21:54 · Charles V.Remember as as I was I’m highlighting the differences of impulsive versus corrective and springs I’m I’m rolling all the things like order blocks and order flow, you you can roll the pillars together, just don’t go too far in the weeds, just focus on the tape, but the areas of confluence that the tape should interact with are critical to actually identify on chart. If you don’t have any of that, you don’t have structure and whoever’s looking at this has no idea, it’s much less helpful.

22:22 · DrewYeah. Okay. Okay. So if this was printing and I’ll let this um

22:30 · Charles V.Actually you can delete that circle just so it doesn’t fuck with you as much but um just so we know don’t move the replay.

22:36 · DrewOkay. Perfect. Uh and okay. So um. Okay. So moving forward, I would have laying out determining now with this being into oh

22:58 · Charles V.Here let me give you a hint so you’re you seem very um uh lacking direction. Use your checklist like you’re supposed to. Just go down the list. And this this is a really good example because when you’re uh when you freeze like this similar uh thing, it happens in real time when you’re dealing with money. So it’s good that you push through this and just remember there’s a simple way to linearly go through this. It’s not complicated. You’ve already written it down, you’ve done it many times, you just have to actually use the thing that you’re you’ve created for this specific example.

23:36 · DrewRight. Okay. Okay. So with the high time frame count, uh determining uh impulsive or corrective in which leg we’re in, I would have I believe determined that at us being into our second wave, correct? Uh with the spring and our accumulation like with the accumulation schematic oh jeez um that I was determining I would have marked at that point uh the leg that we were in coming out of the spring there. Um I believe, do you know do you know what I mean?

24:21 · Charles V.Well no if you draw it it’d be much more helpful.

24:24 · DrewRight. Okay. So. So for us determining if we were into our second wave, uh this is what I would have been watching for possibly here. So just gain a bias of our direction, uh my bias with the also with the higher with the lower low lower highs being made as well, um I would have rolled that into a uh an up bias.

24:57 · Charles V.Okay good to pause. Now let’s just delete that Elliott’s wave so it doesn’t confuse and all we’re concerned with is catching the bottom of the C as close as the bottom of the C of the low of the two as close as possible. And how do we do it. That’s the only only focus of this.

25:16 · DrewOkay.

25:16 · Charles V.Don’t press the rep no no pause. Don’t don’t touch that the entire time. All we’re trying to do remember, this is cheating because it’s already printed. What I’m asking you to do just like in the example I did is just lay out the structure as it’s printing how to identify the interaction points and then read the tape as it’s interacting with them.

25:34 · DrewRight. Okay. So as in our high being off of here and our ABC here, uh okay, okay. So you know after this printed and it being the first wave coming into our second wave, uh off the high, off the fifth up here.

25:56 · Charles V.And just as a disclaimer for Emaad and whoever watches this in in future, this C is an ending diagonal. So it’s not a clear one A equals C distance, it doesn’t need to be. And so whether or not that’s uh diagrammed here doesn’t matter just take my word for it that it is that thing. Uh so that being said, just skip past the Elliott’s wave now, and show us the Wyckoff schematic like I zoomed in and identify the areas of importance for noting interactions with, and then read the tape.

26:29 · DrewOkay. Okay, so with our with the Wyckoff schematic

26:39 · Charles V.And you can delete that now it doesn’t matter.

26:42 · DrewOkay. Um rolling into lower now with us and the ABC I would have at this time started to map out um possibly with the creek as well, um and then also with the

27:02 · Charles V.Okay pause. Every single thing you’re doing, just like I did, as you’re doing it, as you’re narrating it, I need you to also draw it. I need you to make it clear so that we’re all on the same page before you say something else and haven’t drawn it or else it’s completely lost to the void. Like the point of this is and it’s actually really helpful for your own stuff is so that you actually do it thoroughly before moving to the next step.

27:31 · DrewRight. Okay. Can I is it okay if I draw out just to show like my for my one two and then with the ABC on there as well, and then I was going to layer on

27:40 · Charles V.As long as it doesn’t confuse you, yeah, but remember that that C is an ending diagonal. If you haven’t don’t have it drawn it’s uh sometimes confusing. But the point is is that that thing remember, we’re talking about in the range that is just past the two, catching it as optimally as you can there. So nothing beyond that change of character out matters. Like like uh past the range past the B. You should have already entered in full by there. And so you have to map that thing.

28:18 · DrewOh. And to map that thing, like with okay, but with the also with the creek uh like this change of character us having here, um let me see here.

28:33 · Charles V.You should have already entered in full by there. Not not from this time frame you can’t see any of these things, but the point is um you don’t need to go past that because there’s all of your entries are before that.

28:47 · DrewOkay. You don’t need to go past that because all your entries are before that. Okay.

28:57 · Charles V.Um just just think about what I’m saying. So where we were just looking at before group class started, how zoomed in were we on this exact time frame and if we were zoomed in there, then you need to go down identifying the areas of support and structure before, and then going down to the interactions with it and how to how to use them.

29:17 · DrewRight. Okay. Okay. So rolling now uh rolling down here. Uh I was just going to gauge uh I was just going to gauge for uh the time frame. Okay, so.

29:38 · Charles V.So why don’t you to do just make this easier on yourself. You know and we know from your drawing that that two is the low. Right?

29:49 · DrewYeah.

29:49 · Charles V.Okay. So what I want you to do is delete all these Elliott’s wave lines, and then just start from the B reading the tape to the low with every area that mattered to whether it was momentum beyond or failure and reversal. And then the tape of that range.

30:13 · DrewOkay. Okay, perfect. So I would have also marking off the high from here. Um waiting for determining the low of the C, uh I would have been trying to look at support

30:39 · Charles V.Just pause, remember every single thing you say, before you move on, identify how visual. You just said something about C and there’s nothing that states how that is taking place at all.

30:55 · DrewOkay with the end of the C. Well our B off of right, off of the high here to the C, okay. Um also taking that measurement from the A to the B, uh just for a general gauge um might have been something that I believe that I would have done as well.

31:20 · Charles V.Uh is that a question or are you going to draw it?

31:23 · DrewOkay gotcha yeah yeah okay.

31:29 · Charles V.Um. Remember we’re not talking about that. That’s not relevant. We’re talking about from the top of the B to the bottom of that move. That’s that’s your whole world. That’s it.

31:40 · DrewRight. But for that measurement, do you mean taking that making that measurement

31:44 · Charles V.It’s not a A equals C because it’s a ending diagonal. But in this move there is absolutely an A equals C that you haven’t identified.

31:57 · DrewAh, okay. Okay. Absolutely an A that equals a C that I haven’t identified. So I will need to roll down to another time frame.

32:08 · Charles V.No. Right? No. Okay. Um the question is I mean yes if you need to, but do you not see the ABC on this exact leg?

32:17 · DrewI see uh I see A B, okay yeah here. Just a sec. I just don’t want to skip past that. There we go.

32:32 · Charles V.Remember the low of the B or the low of the A is the low of the A. You’re you’re cherry picking a no no go back. Why would you choose that candle versus the one that’s clearly the low right in front of it?

32:46 · DrewRight. Yeah, I didn’t see that.

32:48 · Charles V.Yeah so stop. And now measure that with the fib so we have a gauge of what to expect or to at least project forward for, just like I did on the last one, what would be a strong area to interact with and how if it does show follow through or not, that’s important.

33:06 · DrewRight. Okay. So, taking the measurement tool, uh price range.

33:14 · Charles V.Remember you got to start it from the start of the B. From the start of the B, right there. Yep. So, if you need a line for that, great, if you don’t need a line for that, great, whatever. The point is is now your job is to read the tape and the interactions with all important things that you’ve identified for us.

33:52 · DrewRight. Okay. So as we are marking down um or as we are working down to the C, um I would have been determining through or watching through the volume as well. So, um working through here coming off the B, there’s a whole lot of volume and a whole lot of attempt to push down. Um

34:21 · Charles V.So just pause for a second, I want you to do yourself a favor and zoom in. From your whole world is that B to C right now. Okay. And this is where it gets really cool cause we can actually assess these things further. So now do you see a five-wave structure from the B to the C.

34:44 · DrewYes.

34:45 · Charles V.Great, so now what is one equals the distance that we should exactly. That thing, draw it.

34:54 · DrewOkay. Uh 1 2 3 okay so.

35:03 · Charles V.From the start of the four. Now draw that line forward. Take a horizontal ray and draw it. Remember this is not precision you’re a little bit off but it doesn’t it doesn’t necessarily matter. There is now two lines of importance. So we’re remember your B your your distance from B on the the first blue line is off and your other one is a little bit off. So we’re gonna just no, at the bottom. Right? We’re looking for how far it should go before it reverses.

35:52 · DrewAh, so the line at the bottom, right. Down here.

35:56 · Charles V.Remember you’re a little bit off so precision is not necessarily critical but just leave it there and then remember you can also flip to the time frames that would have shown what are the key areas of failure cause each swing if proceeded past we want to gauge more strength or more failure is also a area of importance. And again I don’t want to guide you too much through it cause I want you to do it on your own but also um from this point tell us where the entry are or entries are and why.

36:30 · DrewOkay. So uh okay. So after this point watching you know here through uh through how this responded here, uh drawing a creek actually off the high here

36:45 · Charles V.Just just do yourself one favor too cause it’s gonna make it a lot easier. Remember the low, so to your left on the left left swing, to the left of that. Yeah, there should always be a line forward at the prior swing to gauge strength or weakness past it or not. Okay. That is also an area of support and resistance. So that little clu that little uh range between the lines, that’s important. It actually starts a little bit higher where that that first blue line is, the the A equals again it’s drawn incorrectly but it’s a range of that rough area is where we want to see the interactions. This one up here? Yeah again it’s not drawn precision because you didn’t start exactly the B but roughly that’s close enough let’s just use that. So remember just like in the Wyckoff schematic, there are two areas of importance. On each side top and bottom. Right. Yep. And so how do we play this based on this what it’s showing you. Read the tape starting from remember we’re we’re trying to gauge where the see your top yellow line?

37:59 · DrewYeah.

38:01 · Charles V.It moves price moves down past that, right?

38:03 · DrewIt it does, yep.

38:04 · Charles V.Go to the first bar that moves down. Yeah. So start reading the tape there forward in a way that’s usable that you can actually catch and understand and and narrate why.

38:22 · DrewOkay. Okay. Uh so for me with this big attempt uh and push down um there’s a huge obviously with the huge volume signature here, um you know it’s absorbing a good chunk of it and then completely reversed with less than half the volume and absorbing pretty much that whole uh that whole push and attempt before it. So big sign of um of you know of recovery and possibly um going in the other direction. Um from moving forward, uh there’s been more attempts now moving down, um much less volume, but no no real follow through uh being made. Um

39:19 · Charles V.What are we calling the lows were a spring, what do we call this?

39:23 · DrewIs it test.

39:26 · Charles V.Yeah. So gauge the test. Remember what I want you to do, there’s a clear as day creek and an ABC and a break. Draw it.

39:38 · DrewOkay. Uh the clean ABC and the break, so

39:41 · Charles V.The creek off the high oh sorry, off as long as we have the max amount of touches that again this is not the best way but it’s close. You can see clearly a respective of that declining creek, the trend line, and then the not just break through it change of character through it, but then the inability to retest and go further past it that with the combo of the horizontal test. There’s a double whammy. Plus the the if you look at the something like 20 uh go back like five candles that that range that smooth uh rounded top. Yeah. There’s a a line that that change of character also broke above that. So it’s a triple whammy. It closed above the range, it closed above the creek, and it confirmed out of the test.

40:33 · DrewYeah, right. Directionally, right?

40:35 · Charles V.So that, that is entry number one. Safest entry number one. And we’re on a 15 minute you can go lower there’s more. The point though is, now move forward.

40:46 · DrewOkay.

40:48 · Charles V.And just keep keep chatting I’m just gonna go take a bathroom break but keep talking and doing narrating everything.

40:49 · DrewOkay. Okay perfect. Um so coming out of there, um you know looking for areas of looking for uh taking taking volume profile of this range off the lines too, try to identify the support. Um you know, it’s uh I’m just seeing for where there would be other possible entries, but um that would be my main one would have been back there. So.

41:16 · Charles V.Okay. And remember, we haven’t mentioned any of this yet, so where is your stop loss, where are your targets, those are a separate conversation for later. But the point is is that you’re supposed to also gauge the horizontal strength or weakness that is either building or decreasing. And so those things are gauged just pick a line, pick a similarly sized candle and gauge is there a notable difference or is there not a notable difference. And then if we have again there’s in this instance there’s actually a leading diagonal and then a precision ABC down with zero follow through and a whole bunch of other uh really clean entries. Um point them out if you can see them.

42:01 · DrewOh, okay. Um the clean ABC down. Okay, so.

42:04 · Charles V.Here, let’s let’s pause. I’ll take over from here and just finish this off and we’re clear cause just for time. Um but good job. There’s uh some things um that are also important. So let’s go over those. Can you see my chart or no?

42:21 · DrewYes.

42:22 · Charles V.So these areas that you highlighted, remember we’re supposed to identify what is the that thing as just as cleanly as possible and then the the areas that matter are lined up closes. This is a smaller timeframe chart, but the point is either one of these will tell us follow through or not follow through. Is there also a range of both of these and an order block? Yes. So whether or not you guys can see any of that it it’s kind of beside the point. It’s just we’re looking at from the move up was this a clear strong impulsive move or something less impulsive. And so this is a leading diagonal. And this beyond it is the break of what is I’ll just draw it so you can see, but an A B C. Again same thing just with the map, again you can use whatever tool you want but it’s just rough. That distance down here is where we want to see an interaction with. So that’s one line. This is again there there’s more uh there’s stronger areas behind it. But we’re just gonna now use the really granular section of it. If this is an ABC, we’re going to draw this line, which is the selling climax, and then we’re going to zoom way in. To gauge what’s happening here. We have one line, two line, and then in this move that is a push down with liquidity sweep and change of character above these two combined, which is it shows a difficulty of push up, but also it shows this is acceptable. This is when we see a liquidity grab, we don’t necessarily need an imbalance. We just need demand in this instance to step in. And so then the gauge is after that what is the tell of whether or not remember is this a spring and a test, is strong, and then ABC, same again just on repeat forever, follow the thing to where should the interaction point be of the C. And then is that declining creek showing us a another entry with a change of character breaking up at the end of the C. And then gauging pra again where is the actual low line of this entire range. It’s you can actually slap this on yet but the point is all of this stuff is relevant across all time frames and in all instances. We just have to actually break it down linearly. So in this instance, this is clearly impulsive up and then not strong or corrective down. And whether or not you can gauge that, the the math still it moves forward. If this is the low, that’s a spring, that’s an A B C test. This is a control bar above the range lows. And so on. So there’s many different instances and we can break this down a thousand different ways. We’re on a five minute we can go to the one and get even more granular. But the lower the less signal. So just understanding that that applies all the time in all cases, you just have to have to take the time and identify prior instances or um areas of structure to look for interactions with. Um did that make sense?

46:05 · Charles V.I wish I had a crickets button. Okay. Do you guys have any questions before we move on?

46:14 · StudentNot on my end. I clearly need to, uh, [unclear] a little bit on the subjects, but not for now.

46:29 · Charles V.Okay, cool. So now what I’d like you to do is, uh, and again, like, this is, uh, things that you’ve not studied yet, I get that. I’m not asking for you to include any of that shit because you’ve not studied it. What I want you to do is just show us as much as you can. There’s no wrong answer. Just, um, let’s go to, actually, just pick a chart, open your screen, share the chart, and then I’ll choose a just clear, uh, easy, a relatively easy example. Just stop your share, it should be off.

47:09 · Charles V.Yeah, let’s see if you can identify entries and all these things.

47:14 · StudentYeah, yeah, I really would like to do that, but I wasn’t sure that we have a session tonight, so I didn’t bring my laptop home. I left my laptop at the office. Yeah, I don’t have the laptop, I’m in the meeting using my phone. But next time I will do that.

47:33 · Charles V.Yeah, good. And then, so let’s get to Ren. Uh, I don’t know if you can hear me, but yeah. So with the sections, nobody has questions before we move on, right? Like, I’ll give you guys the recording first.

47:47 · StudentYeah, but I can do that and send it to the Telegram group tomorrow, if it can help this process.

47:57 · Charles V.Yeah. Next class, whenever, whenever it’s easy to do, just prep to share screens always, because that way, especially if it’s a smaller class, then we can actually do this. So it’s like a private class, as opposed to this, you know, like a whole bunch of people just randomly chirping in. Much more, yeah, I think, beneficial. Yeah. So I don’t think, uh, Ren can help right now. She’s, uh, um, dealing with something. Uh, dealing with a bunch of crazy puppies. Um, so let’s just now move to, uh, if you guys don’t have any questions on that, what would you like to bring up? And let’s start. Emaad, you said you had a, uh, a question in the beginning. Let’s go over that.

48:36 · StudentYeah. Last week I was working on, uh, identifying the strength of, uh, the momentum by using the volume and just looking at the price displacements, the thing that we talked about then, especially around the [unclear]. But, uh, then when I want to use that in real time, I found that it can be interpreted very differently in different time frames. For example, I’ve seen strength in a bullish move on the 30-minute time frame, but it was completely different on the two-hour time frame. And it gets me a little bit confused. How should I interpret that?

49:25 · Charles V.Let’s just, just pause. Let’s go to the exact part you’re talking about. So what chart was it, and do you know roughly where it was? Like, was it, uh, Bitcoin or gold or…?

49:42 · StudentYeah, it was, it was, uh, it’s a US… it was gold. Yeah, on OANDA. But I don’t have access, I don’t have access to my, uh, charts right now.

49:52 · Charles V.Yeah. Do you remember roughly where it was? Is it, like, recent or far back in the past?

49:57 · StudentIt was in the last week.

49:59 · Charles V.Yeah, okay.

50:00 · StudentBut I don’t, I don’t exactly know where it was.

50:04 · Charles V.Yeah, yeah, it’s fine. Let’s just see if we can kind of identify it. If not, whatever, I’ll just choose another spot. Um, but so you said, uh, the two hour. Okay, so… uh, notice any part here that looks familiar?

50:29 · StudentNo, it’s hard for me to identify.

50:33 · Charles V.That’s okay. Yeah, no worries. So, um, yeah, one of the, the easiest ways to make it more difficult without realizing it is to, uh, use… there’s two different tools for the volume. So one is the, the, um, it moves as you move, and that is a very difficult thing to do, uh, especially as a new person. You don’t recognize what you’re doing. So I’d recommend actually not using this ever until you’re, you know, a year in or something. It’s just not, uh, helpful, without leading to potential danger. So don’t use that version. Use instead, uh, the fixed one. Or we can actually just take it back to whatever is relevant, and that thing then should remain fixed across the two hour down to the 15 minute. The line doesn’t change. That way you can have an actual, um, control, rather than just some moving line that’s always changing. Um, is that, is that kind of what you’re talking about?

51:33 · StudentUh, no, not that. But actually I was, I was talking about, uh, finding different directions in different time frames, that sometimes they contradict each other.

51:48 · Charles V.Oh, they always will. Yeah, that’s the coolest part about this, is if you can actually identify how to see a direction, then how this works… Just think of the easiest example I can give, is the ocean. So if you’re sitting, you’re on the beach, and this is a… it won’t make sense, but if you’re playing in the waves as a toddler, and you’re splashing around the water, and there’s a, you know, a micro wave that’s, uh, small, not a surfable wave, not a tsunami, just something small, and you look at that and you think, oh my god, the water’s moving this way. Versus there’s an actual surfable wave coming that’s ten foot tall, that’s going to annihilate that toddler or whoever. And then beyond that, there’s a tsunami that’s coming also. If you’re not aware of the directionality and importance of them, it’s always going to be a very difficult, confusing thing.

52:42 · Charles V.And so just as a kind of, to streamline that, you need to understand. So first, if we take anything, this is on a daily, so we’re relatively zoomed out, but I’m going to zoom all the way up, and I’m going to show you that we currently are in an uptrend. Now, what this is as far as a move is just simply up, and how we can gauge what this up is, is just taking what is the ABC down to the first. And again, this is beyond, I think, what you’ve studied so far, but just understand, if this thing is a move that is impulsive, and corrective in its retracement style, ABC, this thing, we’re in an uptrend. There can be many different corrections. This can go sideways for a year. Time is not the tell here. It’s that we are in an uptrend. How far to? This is a very different question.

53:42 · Charles V.This thing now, the general way, and what we were kind of using as an example, is to gauge the rough estimated distance of what the fifth wave should travel, by actually measuring the first wave. So the first wave in this instance is just here. So that thing is there, ballpark, and I don’t want to give… there’s more context beyond it, but just assume for a second that we have at least that amount of runway to expect. And so what we now gauge is, zoomed in, if trend is up, this is, remember, on a monthly, right? We can then go down to the weekly, and then we can identify the key areas of importance. So I’m just going to leave this line on here for a rough grasp. That’s our rough targets. It’s beyond that. But then in this ABC that is reclaimed with multiple attempts to go down and then a control bar back up, what we do then is zoom in, and just like any other area, remember this is on a weekly, we look for multiple things.

54:54 · Charles V.So first is, what is the most easily identifiable creek, and then the interaction. Was there a break up, and then the follow-through, was it impulsive? And this is the key tell. Was it impulsive or corrective? Again, if you can’t tell that yet, that’s fine, but just understand this is how we tell directionality. Impulsive: strong move, in five-wave counts. Corrective: not strong, highly overlapping, weak moves. That thing is the gauge of what’s required to tell impulsivity, and there’s many tells beyond this. In a correction, the minimum target of what is the impulsive move should be to the fourth wave, but it usually starts to fail around that area.

55:49 · Charles V.And so in this instance, we are in a downtrend from here, but an uptrend from here, and a much larger uptrend on the monthly. And so if we gauge just roughly, if this is, remember, wave one, two, three, four, five, one move up and one move down, then that means we’re actually only in the one-two of a larger move up. Where that is to, that’s completely separate. But the point is, now we gauge this thing after an impulsive move. Just like when the wave comes in with power and then it pulls out slowly. This is the slowly. This is the direction, this is a slope.

56:28 · Charles V.And so what we do then is gauge, just like the other instances, what is the low, and was the low moved past with strength, or the opposite? And then the same math applies. This is actually multiple attempts and then a sweep, which is called turtle soup, with a change of character engulfing three candles, and not making any progress. Was this move down fulfilled with further momentum, or a very difficult inability to move further with higher volume, which is a massive imbalance? And so all we’re doing is gauging, where all of the points matter, did it make a new low, and if so, with how much strength?

57:15 · Charles V.And then if we can gauge this further, again, I don’t want to go down the crazy rabbit hole because it probably won’t make sense, but I said that this was an A-B and we’re waiting for a C. Well, so far this is a one, two, three, four, five wave. Again, I’ll go to a [unclear] and you can see it. But A’s can be five waves or diagonals, which means C waves can also be five waves or diagonals, and so they’ll tell you what they’re doing. You don’t have to guess. But just like the distance of this one is roughly the distance of where we want to catch the failure, the distance of this one is where this should fail, if it’s going to. And then this is a smaller time frame ABC. This is now showing us a creek. What we want, just like in the other examples, is for it to either fail and go further and show us the distance of what would be a B equals C, or not, and show us a clear reclaim of not just the lows, with strength, just like this from all the way zoomed in. Moves down, control bar, not strength, not any trials.

58:30 · DrewYep. Oh, quick question. I might be going down a little bit off here, but with the CAP, this is pretty much our retracement after our break of structure, coming back into an OTE?

58:44 · Charles V.Okay. Okay, yes. So, like, to begin, just because you said that, I’m going to show you. This is a downtrend, and this is structure of that downtrend being broken with a change of character. So that is a very important area, just like this is also a very important area. In both instances, we have a breach up with impulsive movement, which tells us now our directionality is up. And so all we have to do, just like this is a one, two, three, four, five, and then we watch that ABC down. We’re waiting for this ABC to fail somewhere and then show us up. That’s all it is.

59:21 · Charles V.And so first, start with trend identification on the monthly, and then the weekly, and then with the tell of impulsivity and then correctiveness, we could then measure rough, rough distances of where this thing will end. We don’t enter the very low hoping that this is it. We actually wait for confirmation. So the point is, just like in all the other examples, where we can see this as an ABC and then, again, the change of character, whatever you want to do, in the retest, there are many instances to just, in all cases, use this. There are variations of it, so it’s not a linear “A always equals C.” There’s a lot of confusion in correctives. But the point is, there’s still an actual linear math to it. It’s a process of elimination, which is the best part. It’s solving for x. X is the correction. What type is it? Again, it will tell you. Um, I hear all these weird noises in the… I don’t know what’s happening. Anyways, um, did that make sense?

1:00:28 · DrewYeah. Yeah that was great.

1:00:30 · Charles V.Emaad did that help with the trend identification?

1:00:35 · StudentYeah, yeah, yeah, it was really great. Thank you for the explanation.

1:00:39 · Charles V.Good. And just understand like, in all these instances, what we’re trying to do is identify are these areas, whatever they are, and wherever they are, we’re identifying the swings and then the interaction with the swings. Was this a strong move down or not? And then beyond this, was this a strong move down or not? And so on and so on. And did it stop making distance? And in each instance, is this strength of volume increasing or not? Is this an impulsive move or not? Literally just a yes or no question. And then that disqualifies or qualifies the next step, which is solving for x. It’s a really cool thing once you get to Ali’s wave and actually just work down the the decision tree. It’s just simple math.

1:01:21 · DrewThe big one that you always say to me is like, uh, this then that, right?

1:01:25 · Charles V.Literally, it is all of what I do is if this, then that. I don’t care what it does. I just it gives me the tell of if it’s done this, then that only leaves say four options for it to print. And then if it disqualifies another two of those, I’m only looking for two. And then if it gives me the tell of whichever one’s left, I use it. And that’s it. Over and over and over times infinity. Like there is no uh there’s no variation to this uh in in the process in the in the decision tree. It’s always the same. It’s just I don’t know what it’s going to do until it does it and then I use that as a process of elimination. Which is just awesome.

1:01:44 · DrewYeah, it’s so mechanical.

1:02:03 · Charles V.Cool. Um, so that was a lot of a lot of ground covered. Uh if you have questions, state them now. Because if if you don’t it’ll be very confusing to just ever go back. Anyone? I need a crickets button. Is he? Emaad, do you know the Elliott wave like that? Is he really like a

1:02:31 · StudentNo, I, no, no. Just tape. Just what we’re.

1:02:38 · DrewYeah, it’s super cool though.

1:02:45 · Charles V.Ren’s good. She said in the chat she didn’t have any questions.

1:02:49 · StudentOkay. Yeah, I need to I need to digest digest this concepts first, so no more questions now.

1:02:57 · Charles V.Okay. Cool, and that’s um, that’s good.
